Our facility offers access to the latest rehabilitation technology

What is neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation?

Neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation is the treatment of clients who may be struggling with a neurological condition. Conditions that can be treated with neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation include Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Traumatic Brain Injury.

We aim to help patients achieve a greater quality of life. The focus is on maximising independence and functionality so that the patient is able to continue with activities as easily as possible.

Our facility offers access to the latest rehabilitation technology which offers you the opportunity to relieve and treat symptoms, alongside manual therapies.

Conditions we treat

Huntingdon’s Disease
Individuals with Huntingdon’s disease may present symptoms that affect voluntary movement and basic posture. Physiotherapy can help those with the disease throughout their illness to relieve symptoms and promote an improved quality of life.
Stroke Rehabilitation
Effective neurological physiotherapy after a stroke can have a huge impact on the life of the stroke survivor. A stroke may make it difficult for them to move their facial muscles and limbs or to speak and swallow. Physiotherapy can ensure that a survivor reaches their full physical potential during recovery.
Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can have a huge impact on a person’s physical and social function. Neurological physiotherapy cab help those suffering from MS through improving mobility, balance and muscle fatigue.
Cerebral Palsy
Caused by injury to the brain before, during or after birth, Cerebral Palsy mainly affects muscle control and movement. Physiotherapy can provide many benefits for those with cerebral palsy, with the aim being to achieve optimum mobility and independence.
Spinal Cord Injury
Each Spinal Cord Injury is unique and complex. Recovery can be lengthy and will sometimes involve muscle strengthening, balance and mobility. At Flex Health, we provide a combination of research and practice to support the recovery in this complex area.
Parkinson’s Disease
Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease includes motor problems including slowness, rigidity and tremor. Physiotherapy will aim to improve overall physical capacity and the quality of movement for the patient.
Traumatic Brain Injury
The effects of a Traumatic Brain Injury can be long-lasting and catastrophic, with symptoms presenting themselves physically as well as psychologically. Consistent, person-centred physiotherapy will enable TBI survivors to reach full physical capacity after brain injury.
Spinal Infection
Spinal Infections can cause a wide range of debilitating symptoms for the sufferer, including weakness of the voluntary muscles. Physiotherapy can help to reduce symptoms of weakness, pain and swelling, while also improving overall mobility.
