What is clinical governance?
Clinical governance is the framework that holds your organisation accountable for continuously improving service quality and maintaining high standards of care. It emerged from the need for genuine accountability in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services. By aligning emergency care with your organisation’s specific risk profile, clinical governance ensures that the level of care provided corresponds to the risks associated with your operations.
As a key component of your organisation’s risk management strategy, clinical governance establishes clear processes and procedures to ensure that client’s receive the right care, at the right time, from the right professional. Through a cycle of continuous quality improvement, clinical governance offers assurance that care delivery remains both safe and effective, helping to mitigate risks and improve patient outcomes.
