VertiMax

Flex Health is one of Hull and East Yorkshire’s leading health and physiotherapy providers

How is a VertiMax machine?

The VertiMax Machine uses advanced band technology to allow patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals by working on power, strength and conditioning through resistance. This innovative take on resistance training offers rehabilitators the opportunity to load and train patients with consistent resistance and intensity during use.

With our ultimate goal of returning patients to a functional lifestyle, the VertiMax has proved itself a vital tool in the rehabilitation of many of our patients.

How can it help you?

At Flex Health, we use our VertiMax machine to treat a variety of conditions to maximise functional re-establishment and reintroduction of force for our patients. The VertiMax will stimulate your muscles to strengthen and produce more power, thus supporting your gradual return to optimal everyday functioning as you recover from injury.

The added bonus of being able to target specific muscle groups allows for clients with a range of different conditions and injuries to benefit from the VertiMax. Consistent resistance training is ideal for a gradual recovery after surgery or injury, as you can progressively build the degree of difficulty over time to improve your overall strength, power and range of movement.

How do they work?

The VertiMax is a small platform which uses cords to provide resistance to jumping and other functional actions such as walking, climbing stairs, kicking or running. This resistance trainer can be applied to multiple points of the body and helps to build strength and power. Particularly popular within the sporting industry, the VertiMax is attached to different areas of the body and the resistance setting is chosen. Patients can then begin performing a functional activity- for example, kicking a ball- and the resistance will begin to target the required muscle group, building strength and power.

Rehabilitation programmes which use the VertiMax will typically begin with stability reinforcement and linear moves, before clients advance to increasingly challenging mobility training.
