What is Neurotherapy?

Neurotherapy or neurological physiotherapy is the treatment of neurotherapy symptoms in patients who suffer from MS, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s whilst also helping to rehabilitate patients after strokes and brain injuries. By using the same techniques as traditional physiotherapy applied in the correct way with our certified physiotherapists, neurotherapy aims to help patients with neurological disability conditions to improve their quality of life. One specific treatment is Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES). FES works by sending small impulses to stimulate the muscles and nerves, helping muscles to contract and assist in achieving movement. This is particularly useful to allows patients with neurological deficits to perform functional movement patterns with co-ordinated muscle activation.

Our Approach

We understand the journey involved in physical and neurological disability and combine our expertise in practice with the latest technology and support to help aid a patient’s recovery. Our antigravity treadmill is one of only a few within Yorkshire and allows patients with limited strength in their lower limbs to walk and even run, further improving their wellbeing and day to day life. We have the latest and best technology in the East riding of Yorkshire, with the aim of providing the best treatment possible:

  • Restorative therapy cycles
  • Ergometer
  • Antigravity Treadmill

We offer one-to-one physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercise, gait re-education, upper and lower limb rehabilitation, manual therapy/mobilisations, soft tissue massage and specific electrotherapy modalities over the course of 1-2- hour sessions.
