The Flex Process
Tom Micklethwaite – Lead Therapist and Clinic Co-Manager
“I started my internship role with Flex Health in January 2018, following on from graduating BSc Sports Therapist. Initially my role was to shadow for 2 and a half days a week and assist with therapists delivering rehab sessions for both MSK and neurological conditions. This allowed me to gain experience with clients and increased my clinical knowledge within a working environment and allowed me to adapt the sports medicine clinical practice that is engrained at Flex Health. After 6 months I was hired as a full-time salaried therapist, managing an individual case load of my own with advice and support from lead clinicians at Flex Health.
Fast forward to 4 years down the line, I am now a consultant therapist supporting staff with clinical cases whilst managing the day to day running of Flex Health. Flex has provided me with a clear career path and opportunities to progress”
Kaytie Houldridge – Full time Sport Rehabilitator
“Following a COVID related redundancy, I started volunteering at Flex Health in September 2020. I started doing a few hours a week with the aim of improving my clinical skills between jobs. My time spent with the guys at Flex progressed me more than ever as a clinician and I was given opportunities to progress beyond me expectations. Following the 6 months internship offered to me, I am now a full-time member of staff and enjoying the opportunities presented to me at this stage in my career. I give myself credit for the work I put in but also a big appreciation to Matt, Al and everyone else who helped me and brought out my potential by welcoming me into the Flex Fam.”
