Why is physiotherapy important?

Physiotherapy helps people of all ages with injury’s, medical conditions or illnesses that limit their movement and affect their day to day life.

A tailored programme of physical therapy can help you to get back to work, playing sport, or just back on your feet. It can help to prevent additional injury, re-injury and often makes your stronger than before. Physical therapy goes beyond working with athletes and can be beneficial in helping to reduce and eliminate pain, improve mobility and recovery from strokes.

Doctors and health professionals will often refer patients to physiotherapy upon initial diagnosis as a preventative method of treatment (prehabilitation) which can help to:

  • Avoid surgery
  • Achieve normal static and dynamic posture
  • Improve balance and prevent falls
  • Increase mobility and range of motion
  • Enhance muscle endurance, strength and power

Our Philosophy

We believe in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of symptoms using clinically led, researched-based practice, combined with the latest techniques and equipment to ensure a fast recovery. It can help a range of injury and conditions including:

  • Muscular Aches
  • Sport Injuries
  • Rehabilitation
  • Arthritis
  • Respiratory problems

Treatment will involve the assessment and prescription of therapeutic exercises designed to increase mobility, improve strength and maximise range of movement. This may involve correcting postural and muscle imbalance, soft tissue manipulation and massage or stretching and trigger point therapy. These all combine to be able to reduce pain and stiffness, maximising recovery.

Rehabilitation can vary depending on the injury or condition meaning recovery times can range from a few weeks to several months. All recovery involves physical exercise but our expert therapists will guide you through it every step of the way, going at your own pace.
